Governor Palin's "Evening of Hope" in Dallas / America By Heart Book Tour / Veterans Day Open Thread
The Dallas News Reports:Speaking at Dallas' Majestic Theatre, Sarah Palin on Wednesday called for Congress to repeal the nation's new health law because, among other things, it would lead to more abortions."It is even worse than what we had thought. The ramifications of this legislation are horrendous," Palin said in a speech to about 800 people.Palin was in town for an "Evening of Hope," an event sponsored by Heroic Media, a faith-based group that uses media to connect women with unplanned pregnancies to resource centers.Heroic Media has been in the Dallas area since May and is seeking to bring down the area's rising rate of abortions. The former Alaska governor urged the audience to hold elected officials accountable, particularly those in Congress who "caved at the last minute" as the health care law was approved. She said that President Barack Obama's executive order prohibiting the use of federal funds for abortion after the health care bill was passed was nonbinding. She added that the administration later made federal funds available for high-risk insurance pools in some states that allow elective abortions."The biggest advance of the abortion industry in America has been the passage of Obamacare," she said.[...]After her speech, Palin joined a panel discussion that included Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Attorney General Greg Abbott, Dallas lawyer Kelly Shackelford and Dallas minister Stephen Broden. The program was moderated by WBAP-AM (820) radio personality Mark Davis, who is also an editorial columnist for The Dallas Morning News.Perry agreed that Washington was a threat to abortion opponents."The stakes, I don't believe they've ever been higher," Perry said. "We've got to protest louder and let them know we're fed up," making a reference to his new anti-Washington book.Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert introduced Palin and welcomed her to the city.More here, here, here and here She'll be on with Eric Bolling on Fox Business at 8pmVia the Associated Press: (Note: This has not yet been confirmed by the Governor or anyone in her team)HarperCollins announced Wednesday that the former Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor will be on the road from Nov. 23 to Dec. 3, with a break for Thanksgiving, to promote "American by Heart," subtitled "Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag." Except she'll not benefit from the selective standard that liberals apply when evaluating "their own."To Our Troops This Veterans DayWhat Bush misses most about PresidencyWhat else is new?
