The very first Palin fan to get in line arrived at 7:30 Wednesday night. Kristen Dorini wanted to make sure she got to meet Palin. Dorini will have a long wait.
The first people to show up for the book signing were allowed to wait inside the store on the 1200 block of West Carmel Drive as the temperature outside fell into the mid-20s.
"I like her because she's down to earth and I'm extremely pro-life and I love her pro-life stance. I have a handicapped sister that lives with us and I have a nephew that has cerebral palsy. I have first hand knowledge and I just love her stance on it," said Indianapolis resident LouEllen Markovitch.
At 3 p.m. Thursday, the first 500 people in line will get a wristband and will get to have their book autographed. The autograph signing goes from 6-9 p.m. Thursday.
Palin visited Hamilton County last November to autograph her first book "Going Rogue." That book had already sold more than one million advance copies.
Palin fans camped out overnight back in April to line up for an autographed copy. The lines remained long despite inclement weather.
Near the end of this video, you can hear a lady with the publisher talking to the videographer to make sure they're getting the shots that they need. And here I thought they were supposed to be extremely rude to the press or something. You would think so the way every media outlet constantly whines about it.
I understand that members of the media want their scoops, but the rules of the signings are pretty clear and they're there for a reason. As you can see in the CNN interview, talking to the reporter takes away from the time she wants to use to talk to the people who stood in line for hours to see her. Then after each signing she needs to get to the next one, so pardon her if she can't sit down for five minutes with every reporter on the planet.
