Palinophobia Leads to Accusations of Homophobia and Islamophobia

In addition to Palin Derangement Syndrome, it seems that many on the Left suffer from Palinophobia. Governor Palin is feared by the Left, and their insistence otherwise only re-affirms the assertion. Denial is not just a river in Egypt. Governor Palin is one of the few voices who has boldly spoken against President Obama's socialistic agenda. She is one who resonates with everyday Americans because she doesn't speak at them, she speaks to them. She is one of the few who represents a threat. Regardless of how many times they say that she is irrelevant or parrot that she is a quitter, every such utterance proves that she is the one that they fear. Rush Limbaugh often states, the Left will always let you know whom they fear. Just as David Plouffe mentioned over the weekend:"Right now ? and this is a problem for them ? I do think Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, they are the leaders of the party," Plouffe said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "There is an intolerance in that party and an extremism that I think is where the real energy is, and so I think you'll see in '11 and '12 with that presidential primary, those are going to be the people who come out to vote."I would say that, yes, Plouffe is right. Governor Palin is intolerant--intolerant of runaway spending, spiraling deficits, a lack of respect for the military, cuts to national defense, and massive growth of government. Intolerant of people? No. However, despite assertions from the Left that Governor Palin is homophobic or Islamophobic, there is no proof that she is either. In fact, there is proof quite to the contrary.Ruth Marcus of the Washington Post took issue with Governor Palin's comments about reporters who use anonymous sources where she used the adjectives, "gutless", "limp" and "impotent". Marcus first bemoans the fact that she has to write about Governor Palin. Perhaps only if Governor Palin were just slightly more irrelevant Marcus wouldn't have the need to write about her. Then, Marcus questions Governor Palin's choice of words as "questioning his manhood", especially as Gross, the author of the Vanity Fair hit piece, is gay. Marcus then states that Governor Palin should have taken the " high road" as a woman claiming that no male politician has called a female reporter "hormonal" or "frigid". However, hasn't a male politician perhaps patronized a female reporter by calling her "sweetie"? I suppose Marcus conveniently forgot that. All this to say, accusations of homophobia, are perhaps one of the outward manifestations of Palinophobia, despite the fact that GOProud, a group of gay conservatives, have supported Governor Palin in her choice of words and have unequivocally stated that she is not homophobic. Governor Palin's own words have shown that she is not homophobic as well.Another charge levied at Governor Palin is that she is Islamophobic. A recent discussion on tax payer funded NPR led to accusations that people like Governor Palin and Newt Gingerich are similar to the anti-Semites of the 1940s because they reject the location of a mosque at Ground Zero. However, the statements that Governor Palin has made both via Facebook and on Fox News have questioned the decency and respectfulness of the location of the mosque not the practice of those who worship there. In fact, during the 2008 campaign, Governor Palin stated unequivocally that there is no place for intolerance of Muslims in the Republican party:So as the Left continues to fear the influence and effectiveness of Governor Palin, they continue to show new symptoms of Palinophobia. No longer is Palinophobia marked solely by the false charge of racism, it also manifests itself with the symptoms of false charges of homophobia and Islamophobia. What's next? It seems that the Left and their cohorts in the media are grasping at straws yet again, but this is not new.(H/T to John.Glube and thank you to Sheya for his assistance)
