Palin to Speak Before Packed House in Center-Left Missoula/Open Thread
She's scheduled to speak before a packed house in center-left Missoula in about an hour or so. Unlike Barack Obama, she didn't have to beg anyone to attend her event. Here's the early report from the Missoulian:Every seat is taken in the convention center at Missoula's Hilton Garden Inn, awaiting a speech this afternoon by former GOP vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. The must-have accessory: a red baseball cap emblazoned with "Going Rogue," the title of Palin's autobiography.Palin is in Missoula to talk at a fundraiser for Teen Challenge, a Missoula shelter for unwed teen moms. The event is a sellout, with every seat spoken for and standing-room-only for the press - which is relegated to a back corner of the room.If you know what's going down in Missoula, let us know in the comments. In any event, here's the news:-According to Politico, "Romney is keeping a particularly close eye on Palin, and many of his supporters are doubtful he?d compete in Iowa if she is in the race." My only two issues with the piece are 1) I doubt Palin cares at all what Barbour, Romney, Daniels, or Pawlenty do as the article implies and 2) Why would Palin delay her announcement to avoid scrutiny? She already gets plenty of scrutiny on a daily basis over trivial matters.-She recorded a robo-call for Kelly Ayotte as well. We'll put it up when we are able to get it. PalinTV has her robo-call for Christine O'Donnell.-Sarah Palin's Iowa trip points to 2012 presidential run. It's a good article except for the fact that it cited the poll from Ann Selzer that was incredibly off in the Iowa GOP Senate primary.-The Alaska Dispatch tweets in response to her surprise appearance at the 9/11 Remembrance rally: Wasilla "A City of Fear?" Where Palin causes "A palpable unease" Look that way to you?-The Washington Examiner on "why DeMint gives so much credit to Sarah Palin."-Here's the LA times write-up of the Palin/Beck event last night in Anchorage.-Brian Murphy a wild card in battle vs. Robert Ehrlich in Md. Pass along his campaign ad to anyone you know in Maryland.-Anyone surprised that Christiane Amanpour is continuing "Her Crusade to Smear America as Islamophobic and Tout Rauf?s Cause?" If Palin was so afraid to talk the media, why was she willing to talk to someone as far to the left as Amanpour apparently is on the record at the Restoring Honor rally?-Unintentional comedy: Mike Castle admits to taking political advice from Lisa Murkowski.Congratulations to Team USA for winning the World Championships in basketball. First time we've won it since 1994. What's going on today?
