Poll Shows O?Donnell Leading Castle
Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O?Donnell has swung into the lead over her primary opponent Rep. Mike Castle in the latest Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey ? 47 percent to 44 percent, Politico reports.
Castle has been favored for months, and in August 60 percent of Delaware Republicans favored him.
That support has plunged to 43 percent. "That's largely a product of 55 percent of voters in his party saying they think he's too liberal," PPP's Tom Jensen wrote.
O?Donnell, who is supported by tea party activists but opposed by the state and national GOP, benefits from a 62 percent support level from conservatives. "That's more than enough to propel her to the overall lead," Jensen wrote.
