Obama's Mission Accomplished moment

Its a convienent grammatical lie to state that combat ended in Iraq. The Pentagon will state that as fact. Its nothing more than a cynical political move by Obama's PR presidency.
Good for the AP to not go along with this lie. Until PolitiFact.com's Angie Drobnic Holan retracts its Obameter that states this as a campaign promise Obama has kept, they have no credibility.

HuffPost banner, with huge photo of troops saluting as a flag-draped casket passes, “'LIKE A SLAP IN THE FACE' : U.S. Forces Remaining In Iraq Resent Being Labeled 'Non-Combat' Troops” - links to Reuters: “On September 7, two U.S. soldiers were killed and nine wounded when an Iraqi soldier opened fire on them at an Iraqi commando base. The hype around the change of mission, which allowed President Barack Obama to say he was fulfilling a pledge to start ending the unpopular war, set off complaints among some soldiers left behind who were no longer viewed as combat troops. U.S. military convoys are still shot at and bombed, and bases are mortared, despite a change in the name of the U.S. mission from Operation Iraqi Freedom to Operation New Dawn.” http://bit.ly/daetGZ
--AP refuses to go along, posting a Sept. 3 “Memo to AP staff from Deputy Managing Editor for Standards and Production Tom Kent regarding Iraq conflict”: “To begin with, combat in Iraq is not over, and we should not uncritically repeat suggestions that it is, even if they come from senior officials. The situation on the ground in Iraq is no different today than it has been for some months.” http://bit.ly/a1Iz24
